This is the scene before the start of the National Train Day program at the Marshall, Texas passenger station.   To the right side of the station is the Ark-La-Tex Dixieland Band who provided the music for the event.   The highlight of the event was the signing of a memorandum of understanding between the Northwest Louisiana Council of Governments and the East Texas Council of Government linking their efforts to expand rail issues across the state line.   Also on hand was the Arkansas House Majority Leader, State Representative Steve Harrelson, expressing his commitment to adding Arkansas to the expanding political compact  .U.S. Senator Mary Landrieu and U.S. Senator David Vitter of Louisiana sent representatives to the gathering and sent letters of support.   Congressman Marion Berry of Arkansas and Representative Tommy Merritt of Texas also sent letters of support

This is Harrison County Judge & Chairman, East Texas Corridor Council Governmental Relations Committee Richard Anderson.   Judge Anderson and his wife Christina are very active in promoting passenger rail along the high speed corridor.   They are active members of TEMPO
